Der sonst stets so innovative US-Computerkonzern Apple enttäuschte seine Fans diese Woche anlässlich der „Macworld“ in San Francisco. Immerhin: In Sachen Online-Musik-Kopierschutz bahnt Apple eine kleine Revolution an.
Seit dieser Woche ist es amtlich: Das DRM, sprich der Kopierschutz für digitale Musik ist gescheitert. Apple-Marketingchef Phil Schiller hat auf der “Macworld” angekündigt, ab April 2009 alle Songs im hauseigenen Internet-Musikladen, dem iTunes Store, ohne Kopierschutz anzubieten. Dieser Schritt markiert quasi den Todesstoß für das Digitale Rechtemanagement (DRM), sprich den Verfahren, mit denen die Nutzung und Verbreitung digitaler Medien kontrolliert werden soll. Denn: Apple ist mit seinem iTunes Store schließlich der weltweit größte Digital-Musikhändler. Laut Schiller zählt der Webladen mittlerweile 75 Millionen Kunden, die seit 2003 sechs Milliarden digitalisierte Musikstücke heruntergeladen haben.

Earlier this week, Targus revealed a new notebook carrying case for the MacBook Pro. Okay, the black laptop bag may not exactly be my type but this one is cheap and really eco-friendly. Recycled nylon were used and the bag is said to be PVC free. There’s a metal material used inside but it’s nickel free.
