Oh Mr. Obama, what gadgets do you fancy now?

November 21, 2008

Gadget White HouseThe US Election is over and Obama made history by being the first black president to be elected. I think that he will also make another history by being the most techie ruler. Why, he’s got a BlackBerry but will soon ditch it as reported. Rumor has it that he wants a laptop on his desk too. I’m sure, a phone and a laptop won’t be the only gadgets we’d see inside the Oval Office.

When asked by Associate Press to give suggestions for the White House, designer Lisa LaPorta of HGTV’s Designed to Sell sees the ‘library as more of an Internet cafe-lounge with state-of-the-art computer, television and surround-sound capabilities as well as a place for books’.

It’s just one of the many suggestions but I’m curious as to how Mr. President will want his Oval Office to look like and what gadgets can we see inside? PSP? iPod? XBOX? Somebody tell me!

Apple iPhone gets some macro lens treatment, ummm…not quiet really

November 21, 2008

iPhone Macro CameraApple iPhone users know that the infamous phone can’t take photos in macro mode. But you know, geeks are geeks and nothing can’t stop them from providing a solution.

Take for example the macroPhone, an improvised macro lens using an old SLR 50mm lens. No, the modder didn’t install the lens inside the iPhone for it’s impossible. He simply tied the old lens to the iPhone and tried taking photos. The result? Clearer close up photos using the iPhone. The only downside is the set up looks silly.

Gadget 3.0: iPod Shuffle Bracelet is absolutely eyecandy

November 20, 2008

iPod Shuffle BraceletGadget concepts, though not true, keep me alive. Reading and just dreaming about them, wondering when they will ever come to existence are enough to keep me breathing. Naaah, it’s just an exaggeration but really, concepts and mods that try to break away from the norm can be a treat to my eyes. Read more

Starbucks Coffee Cup Speakers: A cup of coffee speaker coming up!

November 19, 2008

Starbuck Coffee Cup Speakers by momentimediaYou may think this is one funny post but  here I am at Starbucks writing about the  Starbucks Coffee Cup Speakers. The popular coffee shop isn’t paying me to do this but the coffee cups turned speakers look nice. Why, they can be considered as eco-friendly because paper cups were used.

I don’t know if the cups are new or used but who cares? The speakers are really functional and are easy to make. Simply use a TDA1552Q amplifier chip and a couple or more coffee cups from Starbucks or from any cafe of your choice. It’s a simple as that. Thing is,   I might always crave for a venti Starbucks Mocha Frap when I’ve got two coffee speakers lying on my desktop PC. And I’m not even a coffee addict…at least not yet.

Toyota Prius modded into a Star Trek Shuttle

November 19, 2008

Prius Star Trek shuttleThe Prius perhaps is one eco-car that has made history in terms of ‘coolness’  but when one man has modded his Prius to a Star Trek Shuttle, then we can say that it’s way cooler than cool. I have no idea who the guy was but this Prius-mod is something that Star Trek fans would love to see and maybe own.

It’s nothing special expect that the owner added sound effects and added some  text on the car paint. It’s just the paint job that turned this into a Star Trek-kish vehicle so don’t expect it to fly or something. Got that?

Gadget 3.0: iPod Touch Nano to launch soon?

November 19, 2008

iPod Touch Nano with removable game controllerThe new iPod Nano is one sleek music player that could hurt people because of its sharp edges. Got to see one last week and man, it could be a deadly weapon. I am hoping that next year, Steve Jobs will introduce a new gen. Maybe something that looks like this concept iPod Nano by Isamu Sanada.

The concept iPod Touch Nano is obviously a combination of the Nano and the Touch.  It features a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a spacious 2.8 inch touchsreen display, and dual dock connectors.

Like the current iPod Nano, the Nano Touch would come in different colors. Of course, this is just a concept but who knows, our friends over at Apple may find this one a nice idea.

More MacBook nano photos coming up

November 13, 2008

Apple MacBook NanoWe’ve seen the MacBook nano hack before but we’ve got some more dish on it. More like, more photos of this MSI Wind-turned-MacBook.

The mod looks real with its shiny laptop cover. There’s a white and black version already. The mod now features a 320 GB. You can actually do this hack on your own in less than one hour. That is, if you’re patient enough …

There’s the Apple logo on the cover of course, which for me, is one of the most important features of this hack.

You can view complete photo gallery HERE.
