iPhone 3G to get a second backlight?
November 21, 2008
Rumor has it that Apple is currently developing an always-on backlight for the iPhone . The new method is said to allow the famous touchscreen phone to display the icons even when the screen is off.
Earlier this week, Apple published a patent with information on the new display technology. The new backlight will of course be placed just behind the main backlight, projecting through the layers.
We have no idea when Apple will officially introduce the technolgy but I’m hoping that the iPhone 3G’s battery life improve soon. Check on the battery first before adding the new tech. Get it, Apple?

Apple iPhone gets some macro lens treatment, ummm…not quiet really
November 21, 2008
Apple iPhone users know that the infamous phone can’t take photos in macro mode. But you know, geeks are geeks and nothing can’t stop them from providing a solution.
Take for example the macroPhone, an improvised macro lens using an old SLR 50mm lens. No, the modder didn’t install the lens inside the iPhone for it’s impossible. He simply tied the old lens to the iPhone and tried taking photos. The result? Clearer close up photos using the iPhone. The only downside is the set up looks silly.

Gadget 3.0: iPod Shuffle Bracelet is absolutely eyecandy
November 20, 2008
Gadget concepts, though not true, keep me alive. Reading and just dreaming about them, wondering when they will ever come to existence are enough to keep me breathing. Naaah, it’s just an exaggeration but really, concepts and mods that try to break away from the norm can be a treat to my eyes. Read more
Video iPod Holder with Magnifier works but is seriously dorky
November 20, 2008
Remember the iPod Nano TV? While it looks retro, this Video iPod Holder with Magnifier looks too dorky. The black leather should have done justice to this accessory but to no avail. Read more
SpongeBob SquarePants: Speaker’s eyeballs wiggle to the music
November 19, 2008
I’ve lost count of how many iPod docks we’ve already featured but the SpongeBob SquarePants Eyeball Speaker Dock is soooo cute! Well, some people may find this scary because the eyeballs are actually detachable but fans of the cartoon show may think otherwise.
This speaker dock is actually soft. The eyeballs may wobble while you play music for that fun, cuteness factor.
The $39.99 speaker dock is currently available from the Nickelodeon Shop. Not bad for a speaker system. So, who among you here thinks that this one is cute? How about scary?

Gadget 3.0: iPod Touch Nano to launch soon?
November 19, 2008
The new iPod Nano is one sleek music player that could hurt people because of its sharp edges. Got to see one last week and man, it could be a deadly weapon. I am hoping that next year, Steve Jobs will introduce a new gen. Maybe something that looks like this concept iPod Nano by Isamu Sanada.
The concept iPod Touch Nano is obviously a combination of the Nano and the Touch. It features a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a spacious 2.8 inch touchsreen display, and dual dock connectors.
Like the current iPod Nano, the Nano Touch would come in different colors. Of course, this is just a concept but who knows, our friends over at Apple may find this one a nice idea.

Bacon iPhone Sleeve: Is it geeky or yummy?
November 18, 2008
The bacon iPhone sleeve reminds me of the red meat iPod skin we featured a few months ago. They’ve got the same concept but the version for the iPhone is just a bacon.
I am also reminded of the meaty phones and USB drive. I just don’t understand why people would want to show their flesh…errr, meat.
Bacon iPhone sleeve is available for $31. Sweet meat!

Panasonic intros pocket charger for the iPhone
November 18, 2008
Panasonic may not be Apple’s best friend but with their iPhone charger, I think Apple fans may see the beauty of the former. The Panasonic Pocket Power phone charger is a good accessory to the iPhone since it could give extra juice to your beloved phone once it runs out of battery and when you are stranded in the wilderness or the desert.
This charger still needs double A batteries but connecting it to the iPhone will transfer the energy to juice up the handset.
The $36.45 can also give extra power to the iPod Touch and other portable gadgets.

Logic3 i-Station: iPod Touch and iPhone now have their own docking station
November 14, 2008
Logic3 i-Station is another iPod dock I’m adding to our long list of docking stations. It is said to be unique but seriously, it looks nothing out of this world. In fact, it looks too plain that I can’t believe this can actually hold the iPod Touch and the iPhone. Read more

November 14, 2008
Apple may be going ‘green‘ but they could go eco all the way by offering solar powered gadgets. Well, it may be impossible for now but this LMAC Touch concept could make Steve Jobs rethink about their efforts. Read more
