The never-ending rumors on the Apple Tablet continues again today as DigiTimes reports that Apple has pushed back the predicted early 2010 launch into the second half of the year. Digitimes also reports the possibility two Apple Tablets with similarly sized screens: a 10.6-inch LCD TFT and a 9.7-inch OLED version, the latter likely being supplied by LG Display as part of their ongoing five-year $500m panel deal.
Price predictions also started floating around where the 9.7-inch OLED panel which is priced at around $500, the display accounting for 30-percent of the device’s total cost, will cost the OLED at around $1,500 to $1,700 on it’s launch, with a roughly $2,000 market price. Meanwhile, the 10.6-inch LCD TFT panel are expected to drop at a far more reasonable $800-$1000.
DigiTimes furthermore adds the possibility of carrier subsidies for an integrated 3G functionality on both models. Foxconn, Quanta and Pegatron are all rumoured as Apple’s manufacturing partners.
