Samsung adds flip-down QWERTY to touch phones?

July 9th, 2009

Samsung folding keyboard by techfever.

I’ve been using the iPhone for almost a year now and I found that the touchscreen is okay to use. Now, I have a hard time using my friends phones that still feature buttons. But why does Samsung still want to add QWERTY on their touch phones as illustrated by the image?

The patent application shows a satellite-looking smartphone. The keyboard is flip-down from the sides. Seriously, I don’t see the point.
