Vanity URLs is a trend Facebook intends to follow too

Vanity URLSs have always made Myspace, and more recently Twitter the sou0. ght after online identity-tools for millions, and now looks like Facebook isn’t about to just sit and watch their competition take if all and gulp it down. It’s ready to snatch and do something about it. Hence, the recent poll about whether people would pay for having a vanity url, remember? And for those of you who are confused what a vanity url is, it is something like www.myspace.com/nisha (this one hopefully doesn’t exist), but just an example.
Facebook will soon be allowing all users to claim a vanity URL pointing to their regular profile page, atleast that’s what we have heard.
Users would mostly be able to grab a name they like, but we have heard there will be several blacklisted generic terms (for obvious reasons). So for those few (just a joke) Myspace fans, here’s one more reason to finally make the move: Folks, switch to Facebook …

I guess it was only a matter of time. I wonder how they will handle confilct resolutions.
