Microsoft Encarta going offline, says ‘bye’

March 31st, 2009

Microsoft Encarta by techfever.I had no idea that Encarta is still operating until this news that Microsoft is shutting the digital encyclopedia. Apparently, Microsoft Encarta’s websites will go offline by October 31, 2009 and discontinue selling Encarta products this June.

No thanks to Wikipedia for making Encarta unpopular today. It started in 2000 when the former was first known to the public. You see, Wikipedia is more updated and is easily updated so more and more people rely on the information posted there. People want more information and they found Wikipedia to be a better source.
