Counting Crows leave Geffen Records, will work on their own

March 18th, 2009

Counting Crows by you.The band Counting Crows has recently ended their contact with Geffen Records. The record label under Universal Music Group has been their home for about 18 years.

Counting Crows apparently will go label-free and they just want to take advantage of the Internet. They are not the first band to take this step since there were the Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead who did it before.

This move may bring a bigger change to the music industry. CD sales are going down and bands going label-free means really bad news for record labels. Oh, what fate.
