Leica’s Pradovit D-1200 Slide Projector is really pricey
We’ve got a DLP projector at home but I don’t know until when we’d be using it. It’s still okay to use but a new one would be better. Leica came up with something ideal for photographers. It may not be something I’d really choose to replace our current one but hey, since I’m trying hard to become a pro-photographer, I might as well invest on something like the Pradovit D-1200 Slide Projector.
Specs of the slide projector from Leica include:
- DNX 30-bit video processing MotionEngine
- 16:10 WXUGA
- Leica-grade optics
- Leica VARIO-ELMARIT-P 1:2.8-3.1/33-42 mm/59 mm-74 mm zoom lens
- 120% vertical lens shift
- 2,000 lumens brightness
- 2,500:1 contrast ratio
- Philips’ 220W FusionPlus VIDI UHP bulb
Bad news is this Leica projector is only available in Japan for a hefty price of $12,000.
[UPDATE Jan 26, 2008] According to Leica PR rep Ralph Hagenauer, the new Leica digital projector Pradovit D-1200 is available worldwide.

Dear Ladies and Gentleman,
thank you for the information on the new Leica digital projector Pradovit D-1200.
Please note that the product is not only available in Japan but world wide. Off course the price range of the projector is on a high level but its the smallest, lightest Full HD projector in this product range with photorealistic quality but you can watch blue-ray movies with excellent image performance.
