TiVo and RIM partner to control DVR via BlackBerry

TiVo and RIM this week announced during CTIA Wireless in San Francisco that the companies teamed up to enable BlackBerry users to control their TiVo boxes using their phones. With the help of a special app that is currently under development, anyone who owns a RIM phone can wirelessly control their TiVo DVRs wherever they are.
The concept is much similar to the iPhone used as a remote control. The announcement was made last Thursday which also brought about excitement to many BlackBerry and TiVo DVR users. Let’s hope that more companies will follow suit.
