Space Flights to be offered to the Greater Public
September 29, 2007

Looks like the outer space is becoming more than just an interesting subject to study, it is now starting to become a new tourist attraction. Who knew centuries ago that man can spend some time in space? Virgin Galactic, set to be launched sometime in the year 2009 is the world’s first spaceline with privately built spaceships. Many tourists have already been lining up in hope that they can travel a few hours on space and fulfill their astronaut dreams. One of the companies who have been aggressively promoting such kind of endeavor is Elegant Resorts. This UK travel company has announced its aims of allowing anyone to travel into space. As of the moment, it is the only UK-based company that can book space tourist wannabes their Virgin Galactic Flight.
Some of Elegant Resorts’ staff already underwent training to study spaceflight technology and were given a glimpse of what tourists can expect from a 3-day spaceline experience. The first flight is expected to become a hit. Of course, who wouldn’t want to live his Star Wars or Star Trek dreams come into play? However, there are many questions regarding its safety. But Virgin Galactic’s research and development team sees to it that everything is well taken care of. They believe that this could be a breakthrough not only in technology but also in tourism.
With the combination of Virgin Galactic’s belief that a space exploration by ordinary human beings can be a real possibility and Elegant Resort’s aim of bringing tourists to a different world, surely this new space technology and tourism attempt is one interesting event to keep track of. If almost 200 people around the world have already signed-up for the oh-so-expensive $200,000 2-hour trip, I guess this is something the whole world should look at. So…who is else is signing up?
