USB Badge Drive: You´ll want to carry that badge
August 30, 2007

Well, considering ID cards are a teeth-wrenching phenomenon for most employees worldwide, including me, I’m sure it´s great news if we can put it to better use right? And what better way to make use of it than have it enabled as a USB storage device?
Well, I think it’s a great idea. Moreover, at least it will give you some reason not to forget carrying it with you. Just plug your SD, SDHC, MMC, Mini SD, RS MMC or MicroSD/T-Flash memory card into the badge and you’ll be able to carry your data wherever you go. But then again, with important information openly available to all employees in companies these days, it would be an absolute threat if even one of these is stolen. For example, financial services and stock market analysis companies are definitely going to abhor this device.
But for others, who would be a tad happier not having to worry about carrying a USB key around, this one is great motivation to hang their ID cards to their necklines. It sure may be a tad bulkier, but who’s complaining right? Moreover, priced at $14, it’s not too great a price to pay even if your company doesn’t CTC it.(NR)
